Back to the list

The Dolce Vita lives on at Edoardo (seat of the hippest disco of the roaring '60s, the Number One), a restaurant and piano-bar that has been able to maintain its high society appeal filling the gossip pages with old and new anecdotes.
It is no coincidence that the official coronation ceremony of Rino Barillari, dubbed "The King of Paparazzi" in 1988, took place in this classic of Rome's nightlife (just steps from the Via Veneto).
It continues to be very popular with the capital's jet set, lured in by the smell of excellent Italian cuisine - based on the Roman and Abruzzi tradition - and by the atmosphere of casual well-being. The ebullient owner, Edoardo, is the soul of the restaurant and is passionate about music (he's even written a few hits) so he will gladly accept to sit at the piano and sing. His example is followed by famous patrons like Giorgio Bracardi, Pippo Baudo and Vittorio Sgarbi in the mood for a jam session. In the meantime, among the VIPs looking on and enjoying the show there are beatiful women like Milly Carlucci, Lilian Ramos, Paola Barale, Mara Venier, Jennie Garth (Kelly from Beverly Hills 90210), Demetra Hampton and comedians like Roberto Benigni, a genuine earthquake.
A bit of trivia: of the two statues humorously placed in the restrooms - the Venus in the men's room and the Bronze of Riace in the Ladies' room - only the muscly warrior shows traces of lipstick (you guessed it, right there) and passionate epigraphs, whereas the Venus seems to pass unnoticed... Want to bet that women beat men also when it comes to being enterprising?
