This restaurant in Piazza Farnese is a true parterre
of royalty: the Infanta Elena of Spain, the King of Morocco Mohammed
VI, President Ciampi, Francesco Cossiga, Mikhail Gorbaciov, Shimon
Peres and huge stars like Liza Minnelli, Susan (Luise) Sarandon
& Gena (Thelma) Davis (together!), Cameron Diaz, Tony Curtis
and designer Laura Biagiotti are all crazy about the cuisine of
Alessandro and Marino Camponeschi - refined hosts at the tables
- which is perfectly equidistant between tradition and innovation.
Among the latest visits, Al Gore (the exact same time that Bush
was in Rome, at dinner at the Quirinal Palace) with his wife and
son. His favorite dish: lobster al Carato. Won over by the Colle
Lanuvini wine produced by the family's company (which is also the
only European wine producer to distribute their products on the
flights of an important US airline), he immediately ordered two
boxes for his overseas libations.
